Laurie dragged me to newlife. Skid marks all the way in. I was done with church. Done.
Favorite color
Surfer tan. That is a color—right?
Favorite food
Anything Laurie creates. I did mention she’s amazing, didn’t I? Other than Laurie as chef, my favorite food is anything that can be micro-waved.
What is your role at newlife?
I love leaders. I disciple leaders. I celebrate, coach, mentor and cheerlead leaders. I choose to live at the “apostolic edge” at newlife. I love coaching new leaders as they launch new teams, groups and churches!
What is the best part about your role?
Watching leaders for His mission emerge and thrive. Being a resource for the mission newlife is called to.
What is your favorite place on the planet?
Two spots: any beach in Orange County CA and Sun Valley, ID. OK, there’s a third: anywhere Laurie is.
Who makes you laugh?
Let’s see…Wes Davis. Jeff Davis. Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart. Jerry Seinfeld..…it’s a long list, actually….
What makes you cry?
Injustice. Stories of amazing life change. God-moments. Baptisms. The last scene in “It’s A Wonderful Life.”
If you could be on any reality television show, which one would it be?
Wouldn’t do it. But…I’d love to be on “Friends.” What a tribe! We all long for a tribe like that!
What do you count as the greatest invention of the last 100 years?
The internet! Facebook! J Boeing! Why? They’ve all made the world incredibly small, flat and accessible.
